On 28 September ElevenLabs introduced Eleven v4, an entirely new text-to-speech architecture, and the fast Eleven v4 Turbo for voice agents. Per the company the model ranks first on the Artificial Analysis leaderboard, and in blind comparisons about 75 percent of listeners prefer it.

In a post dated 28 September OpenAI writes that structured safety documentation should be required before continuing any frontier reinforcement learning run. The company admits that real "safety cases" of the kind used in aviation and nuclear power are a goal it is still building towards.

On 28 September Mark Zuckerberg announced Meta Enterprise Platform, "the next major pillar" of Meta's business. At first it will bring the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code to companies. Chirantan "CJ" Desai takes charge, reporting directly to Zuckerberg.

The American dictionary added 1,400 words and definitions on 25 September. Technology brings four: compute as a noun (a resource companies increasingly want more of), vibe coding, AGI and uncanny valley. Alongside them come parasocial, looksmaxxing, meme coin and trash panda.

On 25 September the catalogue of actively exploited vulnerabilities gained CVE-2026-87902 in the WordPress core, CVE-2026-65660 in SharePoint and CVE-2026-67279 in MikroTik's RouterOS. MikroTik comes with a catch: the versions that fix it carry an incomplete fix for another of the holes.

On 25 September n8n added a new type of agent: you describe the task, choose a model, tools and workflows, and the agent decides how to reach the result. Workflows can become its tools and so limit what it can touch. The old AI Agent node stays unchanged.

At the Apsara 2026 conference Alibaba said the next Qwen generation is in training, and the Qwen 4.5 and Qwen 5 series are planned to reach 5 to 10 trillion parameters. Its cloud plans new regions in Türkiye, Finland and the Netherlands in the next 12 months. Everything with a future date is a plan.
