A short and honest privacy policy for we are coded - an independent, non-commercial newsroom. In short: no accounts, no forms, no cookies, no analytics, no tracking. The technical processing on a visit happens in two places: the Cloudflare network your request passes through, and the standard server logs of the hosting provider together with its summary statistics (Awstats/Webalizer), which we cannot switch off.
Operator
we are coded is an independent, non-commercial newsroom, built by WACT Studio (under CODE).
Corrections, questions and reports are handled by Tsvetelin Ivanov: hello@wearecoded.com.
What we DON'T collect
No accounts, registration, forms, comments or payments. No cookies. No analytics (Google Analytics or similar). No tracking pixels.
The fonts are hosted on our own server, so loading a page makes your browser send zero requests to third parties (such as Google Fonts).
Server logs
When the site loads, the hosting provider may automatically keep standard technical logs: IP address, date and time, requested URL, user agent and HTTP status.
These logs are needed for security, diagnostics, abuse protection and the normal operation of the site. The legal basis is legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
On our side the logs are not used for advertising, profiling or analytics. At the server level the provider runs standard statistics (Awstats and Webalizer) that aggregate the same access logs; this functionality is part of the hosting and cannot be switched off. The logs are not deleted automatically by the provider.
The hosting provider (SuperHosting.BG Ltd.) is an independent controller of these technical data. Their official confidentiality declaration (signed by the managing director, including with an electronic signature) is here: https://www.superhosting.bg/web-hosting-page-terms-and-agreements.php#gdpr
Retention: technical logs are kept for a limited period (up to 90 days) and cleared periodically; we keep no separate copies. The aggregate statistics (Awstats/Webalizer) contain no personal data beyond what is already described.
Network provider (CDN)
The site sits behind Cloudflare - a network that serves it from a server near you and shields it from flooding. Your request passes through Cloudflare before it reaches our hosting. That is a third party, and we say so rather than claim there is none.
In passing through, Cloudflare processes technical data: IP address, requested address, user-agent, time. It does so to make the network work - not for advertising or profiling on our part. The site also sends automatic network-error reports to their system, so connectivity problems are visible.
Cloudflare, Inc. has its own privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
We do not ask Cloudflare for cookies, and as of 27 August 2026 none are set. If that changes, we will record it here.
Your rights
Since we have no user base, we normally hold no personal data of yours to manage. To the extent technical logs exist, under GDPR you have the right to ask what is being processed and to request access, rectification, erasure or restriction of processing, as well as to object.
Write to hello@wearecoded.com and we will help as far as possible (part of the logs are held by the hosting provider).
Right to complain
If you believe the processing of personal data violates GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For Bulgaria that is the Commission for Personal Data Protection: https://cpdp.bg/
Changes
If anything about how this works changes, we will update this page. This is a practical note for transparency, not legal advice.
