On 11 October 2026 the DNS root changes its key-signing key (KSK) for only the second time ever; the first was in 2018. The new KSK-2024 replaces KSK-2017. Cloudflare says most website operators need to do nothing, but a resolver that validates DNSSEC must trust the new key before the switch.

On 30 September NVIDIA said CoreWeave had made Vera Rubin NVL72 systems available and that Cognition, the company behind Devin, is the first customer running real work on them. In early tests Cognition saw up to 4.8 times higher total token throughput for SWE-2 compared with GB200 NVL72. The figures are NVIDIA's and the customer's, not independent.

On 28 September AMD signed a definitive agreement for World Labs, the lab that builds models for generating and simulating 3D worlds. The deal is all stock and is expected to close by the end of 2026 if regulators approve. Fei-Fei Li is to become AMD's chief scientist.

In MLPerf Inference v6.1 NVIDIA submitted the first Vera Rubin NVL72 results against GB300 NVL72: up to 3.7 times higher throughput on Qwen3-VL and up to 2.5 times on DeepSeek-R1. It is a shared test with rules, but the system sits in the category for upcoming products.

On 31 August AMD, Cisco and HUMAIN announced that AMD Instinct MI355X systems are live in Saudi Arabia and serving customers. The next phase is a plan: up to 250 megawatts on the new MI400 generation from 2027. Their joint venture's target remains up to 1 gigawatt by 2030.
