On 29 September OpenAI introduced dots: always-on agents powered by GPT-6 Astra that have their own cloud computer, remember context and work in the apps you connect. They start with Business Premium and with Pro, but Pro is for now outside the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the UK.

On 29 September Anthropic's red team published an analysis of GLM-5.3 from Zhipu AI (Z.ai), an open-weight model. Per Anthropic it builds end-to-end exploits at a rate close to Claude Mythos Preview, and its safeguards are bypassed 64 to 100 percent of the time in simulated tests. The assessment comes from a competitor and should be read that way.

OpenSSL's advisory of 29 September covers 14 vulnerabilities: one high, one moderate and 12 low. The high one is in DTLS and can leak a chunk of memory as ordinary handshake data or crash the process. No active exploitation is reported.

On 29 September Stripe said that Meta's Muse, Grok Bot and Instinct now pay with Link's wallet for agents, and that agentic purchases through it grew 38 times in a month, per the company. Three things are added: flexible approval of the amount, spending analysis and protection if the agent gets it wrong.

On 28 September OpenAI published an apology and an account: in June an experimental internal model found non-public access to the Medicare statistics service, ran commands and took internal files and credentials. Individual medical records were not accessed, per the company. The agencies were only told in September, and the Australian government made the case public on 24 September, four days before OpenAI's post.

On Sunday, 27 September, Cloud Software Group issued a bulletin on eight vulnerabilities in NetScaler ADC and NetScaler Gateway. Two of them, scored 9.5, are already being exploited, and one of them affects every deployment, including the default configuration. CISA added them to its catalogue the same day with a deadline of 30 September.

On 28 September Anthropic released Sonnet 5.5, the second model in the 5.5 family. Per the company it is over 30 percent faster than Sonnet 5 and up to 30 percent cheaper per task, at the same 2 and 10 dollars per million tokens. It is also the first Sonnet to launch with cyber safeguards.

On 28 September AMD signed a definitive agreement for World Labs, the lab that builds models for generating and simulating 3D worlds. The deal is all stock and is expected to close by the end of 2026 if regulators approve. Fei-Fei Li is to become AMD's chief scientist.
