The company behind the editors millions of programmers work in, and behind the agent Junie. A short entry on who's behind the tools mentioned in the other nodes.
Their tools are a familiar sight to any programmer. Heavy, detailed editors, each one built for its own language: IntelliJ IDEA for Java, PyCharm for Python, WebStorm for JavaScript, GoLand for Go, Rider for C#. Junie is the agent they added on top. It doesn't suggest a line of code, it takes on a task and finishes it.
Through 2026 they've moved in a clear direction. First they put agent abilities across their whole lineup. Then they announced a shared protocol for different agents to talk to each other. Then they shipped a local version of Junie, running right on the machine, with no outside server.
