At Stripe Tour Berlin the company announced a package for Germany, led by the Agentic Commerce Suite. Businesses will sell directly through AI interfaces - Gemini, Copilot - by the end of the year. The customer asks their assistant, the assistant buys from you. The customer doesn't even open your site.
Put simply: the news isn't Germany. The news is the model. Payment infrastructure is getting ready for a world where the buyer is an agent. The catalog, the price and the payment need to be machine-readable - otherwise you simply aren't in the result. 'Store' is quietly starting to mean 'API with a storefront.' And if you're building it, that's a requirement starting today, not someday.
