Since 8 September Meta appears among the AI channels in Shopify's Agentic Storefronts. Your catalog flows to it by default, and it is up to you whether to stop it.
- Meta sits next to the other AI channels in the Agentic Storefronts section of the admin.
- Products are shared with Meta by default through Shopify Catalog.
- Access for Catalog and for direct checkout is managed in the agentic settings, where performance is also shown.
One sentence in Shopify's note is the important one: your products are shared with Meta by default.
Not after you press a button. Already. If you have a Shopify store, since 8 September your catalog has been flowing there, unless you went in and said otherwise.
To be honest, I don't think it's a bad move. If people ask an assistant what to buy, better it sees your product than the one next door.
But with a catalog this means your product data already lives in someone else's system as well, and you didn't decide it.
Go to the agentic settings and look at the two switches: Catalog and direct checkout. Leave them on if you want them. Just let it be your decision.
