Barcelona, June 28. The 29th World Congress of Architects (UIA) opened under the theme 'Becoming. Architectures for a Planet in Transition' and runs through July 2. For the first time the theme was chosen through an international competition.
I'm putting this here on purpose. Design isn't just screens and brands. It's also the walls we live in, the cities we pass through every day. The scale is different - a building, not a banner. The eye is the same.
It's worth lifting your eyes from the screen to this scale. Sustainability is the same question - in a building and in an interface: how long what we make holds up before it needs replacing.
