Adobe, ElevenLabs and Figma now go through the same single door. Runway announced Runway Dev - a platform with one API to all of its models for image, video, audio and live real-time characters.
- Runway Dev - one API for Runway's models for image, video, audio and live characters.
- Enterprise guarantees: SOC 2 Type II, zero data retention, protection against rights claims.
- Named users include Adobe, ElevenLabs, Shutterstock, Figma Weave, Gamma, Silverside.
Every announcement like this makes me squint first - one more generator rarely changes anything real. Here, the interesting part isn't the generator. It's what stands behind it.
The bottom three lines carry the most weight for me. Zero data retention. Protection in a rights dispute. An audited security standard. Exactly these boring guarantees decide whether a creative team puts the tool into a real client project, or just plays with it on a Sunday afternoon.
For a studio like ours the question is simple: can I put this in front of a client without inheriting someone else's legal problem. If you're building something similar too, look first at the three boring lines - data retention, rights, certification. Once the vendor takes on the risk in writing, the tool becomes a working one. Not a demo.
