Figma released Skills - plain-language instructions the agent runs with a slash command. It simulates feedback, preps reviews, logs tasks in Asana. Open beta.
- Figma released Skills (July 1): plain-language instructions that teach the agent exactly your team's processes.
- Called with a '/' command, connected to Slack, Notion and Asana through MCP; open beta for the paid plans.
- The examples: /catch-me-up for a summary, /crit-prep-checklist for reviews, /create-tasks turns feedback into tasks.
Type a command with '/' and Figma's agent follows your team's process - that's Skills. Reusable instructions written in plain English. The team describes the process once - how a review gets prepped, how feedback gets given, how tasks get logged - and the agent runs it the same way every time.
There's real class in this. The design tool is moving from a place where you draw to a place that knows how your studio works. For twenty years I've watched brand books sit in a folder on disk while only one person on the team remembers why the rule is exactly that. Figma is now putting exactly that knowledge into the tool itself - the team's know-how stops living only in the oldest colleague's head.
The move is the same one coding agents made a year ago, only now it's for design. Describe your processes first, and you get the most out of the agent. Everyone else is playing catch-up.
