On 11 July Anthropic shipped version 2.1.207 - a small release with three specific changes for teams running on cloud infrastructure. The most interesting part isn't the new feature, it's a fix.
- Claude Code v2.1.207 shipped on 11 July 2026 at 00:52 UTC.
- Auto mode is now available on Bedrock, Vertex AI and Foundry without the explicit flag CLAUDE_CODE_ENABLE_AUTO_MODE. Available doesn't mean on: the default mode is still manual, and an admin can lock it from the settings.
- The default model for Bedrock, Vertex and AWS's Claude Platform becomes Claude Opus 4.8. Only on those channels, not everywhere.
Anthropic shipped Claude Code v2.1.207 at 00:52 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) on 11 July. A small release, and it mostly affects teams running the tool on cloud infrastructure.
Short and plain: the interesting part here is the fix, not the feature. A frozen terminal on long output is exactly the kind of bug nobody files - because everyone assumes it's their own machine. And things like that pile up quietly and make the tool tiring to use. The other signal is the removed flag: a feature that steps out from behind a gate and becomes the default in principle means the team trusts it now.
Small, but it carries weight. We use Claude Code every day, so I have a stake here and I'm saying it outright. For teams on the three clouds, the news means less manual setup. For everyone else it's a sign the product is being polished in the details - whether that shows up elsewhere too, we'll see.
